Pre-Dry Wall Meeting / Guardian Meeting was today!

This was a fun meeting - but SO COLD! We got to go into our house, walk amongst the plywood, frames, exposed vents, etc. Your house looks really small at this stage - really small. Our guardian rep. met with us first to go over the placement of our data/cable/phone outlets, the surround sound speakers we put in with them, and placement of the wall mounted outlets for the TV's.

Then our project manager met us and showed us about everything "behind the walls", gave us the opportunity to take pictures if we wanted, explained lots, and in general just gave us an update of our house.

We were there for just over an hour - and it was FREEZING - but worth it!

Pre-Dry Wall Meeting / Guardian Meeting

Tomorrow is our pre-drywall meeting with our project manager and we'll also be meeting the Guardian our homesite. The pre-drywall meeting gives you a chance to walk inside your home and take pictures of what's behind your walls prior to drywall. I'll share more info after tomorrow's meeting. We're still on schedule for our April 1st move-in!

It's starting to look a lot like a house....

Quick update!

Yeah! My project manager called today and the frame is up, the crane is the putting up the trusses, roof will be shingled soon and the plumber will be there soon too! Inspections need to be had and then we'll be having a pre-drywall meeting next week or so.

I'll post pictures later today. It's really moving along fast!

And he did confirm that we did not need a sump pump on our lot and they will be doing the rock-hounding and hydroseeding of our lawn - for FREE!!!

The lumber is HERE!

The lumber was held up a couple of days due to the vicious snow storms we've had here on the East coast. It arrived on Thursday. I hope to have a picture of our house frame next week!! All is still going well!!

Mortgage Rate Lock-In

Once you are 60 days away from your closing, you can lock in your interest rate with NVR - unless you are putting 20% down, then you can lock in earlier. Today is our 60 day mark. We decided to lock in right now, with our interest rate being 5%. Rates have been rising, we didn't want to risk it.

Our house is moving along. Framing is to begin in one week. More foundation work, water-proofing, etc. is happening until then. Our project manager is doing a great job explaining everything and answering questions.
